Refund Policy

The short version

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If something goes wrong, reach out to support@lalolearning.com and we'll do our best to make it right. We're a small indie team, not a faceless corporation — we actually read every email.

EU 14-day right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online, no questions asked.

However, digital content is a special case. When you buy a Lalo Lifetime pass or a vocabulary pack, the content is delivered immediately — it unlocks inside the app right away. Before completing your purchase, you explicitly consent to begin receiving the digital content immediately and acknowledge that this waives your 14-day withdrawal right. This is standard practice for digital goods under Article 16(m) of the Directive.

When we'll still refund you

The legal stuff above is the default, but we're human. We will always consider a refund if:

• You were charged by mistake (duplicate payment, wrong amount, accidental purchase).
• A technical issue prevented you from accessing the content you paid for, and we can't resolve it.
• You contact us within 14 days of purchase and haven't used the premium content yet. We'll treat it the same as if the withdrawal right still applied.

How to request a refund

Email support@lalolearning.com with your purchase details (the email you used, approximate date, what you bought). We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method via Stripe, usually within 5–10 business days.

A note on the free tier

The core Lalo experience — all 1,000 words in all 12 languages — is free forever. No trial, no paywall, no catch. The purchases above are entirely optional extras for learners who want to go further after graduation. If you never spend a cent, you still get the full product.
